Student opportunities and activities
At Caldera School, we offer a range of co-curricular programs designed to support students’ goals both inside and outside the classroom. Our activities focus on building employability, independence, and wellbeing, giving every student the chance to explore their interests and develop real-world skills.
Students can take part in:
-
Happy Belly Café – a school-based café where students gain hands-on experience in hospitality and customer service
-
Agriculture program – learning to grow, care for, and harvest produce in our on-site garden
-
Community experiences – opportunities to engage with local organisations and participate in work placements or volunteering
-
Bike program – promoting fitness, teamwork, and practical skills through bike maintenance and riding activities
-
Project-based learning – creative, collaborative projects that build problem-solving and communication skills

Trips, opportunities and excursions
Taste Tester days at TAFE
This gives students the chance to explore different career pathways through hands-on workshops at Kingscliff TAFE. These experiences help students discover their interests, build confidence, and make informed choices about their future learning and work options.
Healthy outdoor experiences
We encourage students to connect with nature, engage positively with the environment and move their bodies. Activities include fishing excursions with NSW Fisheries, garden and agriculture program and our bike program, which promotes resilience, physical fitness, and a sense of achievement in a supportive environment.
Excursions and Fun Days
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
