Our vision is to empower every student to build a strong foundation for a fulfilling future by fostering resilience, life skills, career development and a sense of belonging. We are committed to providing an individualised, safe and supportive learning environment that nurtures their cognitive, emotional, social, and physical wellbeing. Through personalised academic pathways, practical skill development, a clear pathway forward and community connections, we aim to inspire students to become confident, autonomous, and active citizens, ready to navigate life with purpose and contribute meaningfully to society.
We are a School for Specific Purpose (SSP). We providing intensive learning support for students who have had difficulty succeding in their mainstream school. Our school provides a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where every student is recognised and supported to achieve their full potential.
We work with families, carers and support staff to make learning and wellbeing plans for each student. This means all students can learn in a way that suits them best.
Alongside our curriculum, students take part in programs that build skills in:
- communication
- independence
- life skills
- social skills
- work experience and links to vocational training.
Our classrooms are set up to meet each student’s needs. We make sure students feel safe, respected and ready to learn in a way that suits them. Our staff are caring and are skilled to help students feel confident, connected and proud of who they are.
Our school uses a placement process. Enrolment occurs through a formal referral. Families and schools can contact us if they think our school might be right for their child. To learn more, visit our enrolment enquiries page.
“Caldera School has provided genuine connection and consistent support for my son, especially in helping him continue his athletic program after leaving the mainstream system. We were concerned he might lose access to these opportunities, but Caldera has supported him every step of the way. His growth in sportsmanship and understanding of his craft has been strengthened through the guidance he’s received. The staff’s presence and support during difficult moments have been really important, and we’re very appreciative. We’re grateful for all involved and look forward to seeing how he goes at state, representing Caldera.” 02/12/25
